When Hannah, a curl-care enthusiast and lover of all things mid-century modern, approached us with the dream of launching her own personal brand, we were immediately intrigued. She wasn’t interested in just another haircare identity — she wanted a visual brand that felt like a vintage revolution for curly-headed humans.

The Challenge: A Brand That Felt Scientific and Soulful

Hannah’s goal was to create a space (both online and off) that documented her personal journey of finding the best ways to care for curly hair — especially for textured, coily, and unruly strands that are often overlooked in mainstream beauty.

But she also wanted it to be fun. Offbeat. Full of personality.

What she needed:

  • A brand identity that honored the science of haircare while celebrating vintage aesthetics

  • Visuals that would resonate with curl-conscious clients who are tired of being an afterthought

  • A creative direction that felt like her — quirky, bright, smart, and memorable

Our process began with a deep-dive design consultation, where we talked not just about color and type, but Hannah’s voice, story, and what sets Vixen Hair Co apart. Then, we created a custom mood board — full of 1960s tile work, bold colors, and retro salon signage — to help guide the visual direction.

Once the aesthetic was set, we built a cohesive brand suite that included:

  • 🔠 Brand fonts: A playful mix of mid-century-inspired serif and rounded sans-serif typefaces

  • 🌀 Custom brand pattern: Inspired by geometric 1960s tile — bold yet clean, ideal for packaging, apparel, and digital use
